- What is the difference between Plasma Enhancer® and Plasma Enhancer® Pro?
The basic elements that the Plasma Enhancer® offers are DCDi™, Philips high quality analog tuner, Off-Air-Noise-Terminator™, and TrueLife™. Whereas the Plasma Enhancer™ Pro provides additional features include SDI-inputs, Pixel Magic System™, user-customisable output resolution and HDTV analog input.
The SDI input is an established standard that has been used by the professional broadcast industry, since the technology allows zero picture quality loss when video is transported from SDI-equipped DVD player or set-top-box to Plasma Enhancer™.
Pixel Magic System™, developed by Pixel Magic Systems Ltd., is a set of tools for users to configure the video output of Plasma Enhancer™, to map to digital output devices in Pixel Perfect mode/1:1 pixel mapping.

- What video inputs does the Plasma Enhancer® & Plasma Enhancer® Pro have?
Plasma Enhancer® has the following inputs:-
- AV1: 1 S-video, 1 composite plus 1 component (configurable as RGBs) with 1 stereo audio
- AV2: 1 S-video with 1 stereo audio
- AV3 on front panel: 1 S-video, 1 composite and 1 stereo audio
Plasma Enhancer® Pro has the following inputs:-
- 1 Serial Digital Interface (SDI) input
- 1 HDTV analog input for passthrough
- DVI-D (HDCP) input for SDTV processing and HDTV passthrough
- AV1: 1 S-video, 1 composite, 1 component with 1 stereo audio
- AV2: 1 SCART input (configurable as S-video, RGBS, component or composite) with 1 stereo audio, aspect ratio auto-detection via pin 8
- AV3 on front panel: 1 S-video, 1 composite and 1 stereo audio

- What video processing technology does the Plasma Enhancer® uses?
DCDi™ and TrueLife™ technologies are adopted in the Plasma Enhancer® range for video processing. DCDi™ eliminates the jaggedness that conventional up-converters causes to diagonal edges in video. TrueLife™ brings out details in the picture and produces a more life-like image.
Digital - DVI
The DVI (Digital Video Interface) provides the best quality video output. If you are connecting to a display device that has a DVI terminal, this is the recommended option to use. This allows direct transmission of the video information from Crystalio to the display without any conversion from digital to analogue signals.
Analog - 5 x BNC Connectors
Can be used either as:
- RGBHV
- RGB(Cs)
- Component Video Y-Pb-Pr or Y-Cb-Cr

The motion adaptive noise reduction algorithm effectively reduces the video noise of off-air material.
TV Commander™
Plasma Enhancer™ is the only video processor which can learn the common infrared remote control signals of your TV, and control you TV by transmitting the learnt signals through a wired infrared transmitter.

- Amongst the choice of video processors available, which one should I buy?
It depends on your requirements and budget. Most of our buyers have different level of knowledge and expectation on home theatre equipments. However, here is some guideline we could offer:
If you are a beginner to the home theatre products, and wish to get good quality video experience, then Plasma Enhancer® would be a good choice. Giving that most of the functions are preset on the device, which means you do not need to bother on how to navigate to get the best picture.
However, if you have some knowledge and experience on the home theatre equipments, you could consider for the Plasma Enhancer® Pro and Crystalio. Both devices provide wider selection of video processing functions and navigations, so that you could customise your own according to your display device.
If you are an advanced player or even an expert, then there is no doubt to choose Crystalio. As the device allows you to adjust to any settings of your choice to provide a tailor made AV solution at home.
